Facebook Ads Reporting provides tons of data to marketers, yet in the early days, it was difficult to create custom metrics. Now, with a recent update, users can create their own metrics in Ads Reporting, easing the analysis of the data. To reach this custom metric screen, users must click on Ads Reporting, then click on the metrics selection, which will then bring up an option for custom reporting. The tool will provide users with several different factors and variables, so that they can build a one-of-a-kind metric that fits their business needs.
- You can locate the custom metrics option by going to the left-hand side of the Facebook Ads page and clicking “Metrics” then “Custom Metrics”.
- Facebook offers four base metrics which are: engagement, performance, conversions, and custom conversions.
- There will be symbols such as an addition sign, subtraction sign, slash, parenthesis, or an X. These all can be easily added to the formula.
“If you’re like most advertisers, you export your stats into a spreadsheet, create a new column, and use formulas to generate this new metric. Thanks to an update to Ads Reporting, this is no longer required.”
